Festival Hire is a locally owned, award-winning event & equipment hire business, and we’re on the hunt for a hands-on Hire & Sales Manager to help keep the wheels turning and the party rolling.
We supply everything from marquees, furniture, décor and catering gear to AV, retail items for weddings, parties, corporate events, festivals and community celebrations. Friendly service, community vibes and a big “can do” attitude are kind of our thing.
This is a working manager role — not a desk-only gig.
You’ll be:
• Chatting with clients and building custom event bookings
• Quoting, guiding and turning enquiries into confirmed events
• Planning deliveries, collections and installs
• Keeping equipment clean, organised and event-ready
• Leading and motivating a small, growing team in an exciting industry
• Keeping stock, systems and schedules running smoothly
• Spotting & implementing ways to grow sales, streamline operations and improve processes

• Has experience in events, hire, or hospitality
• Has led a team (formally or informally) and enjoys it
• Is great with customers and confident closing sales • Loves being hands-on — warehouse, office and onsite • Stays calm when things get busy (or weird)
• Is organised, practical and solutions-focused • Holds a full, clean driver’s licence Bonus points if you’ve worked in event hire or know your way around marquees, furniture or AV.

We are always on the look out for keen, fit and motivated team members for events throughout the year to work with our ground crew. These guys specialise in Marquee rigging and can travel throughout the Wairarapa and further to install our masterpieces.
These roles can be fixed-term covering our busy summer/event season or casual employment.
This can suit someone that may have their own small business, have flexability or seasonal workers that are keen to experince the Wairarapa for a few weeks or months.
